Ashtanga Yoga is the system of yoga taught by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. This system of yoga consists of six different series of postures that take the practitioner from the fundamental, yet challenging, realm of basic postures into more complex, physically demanding and energetic expressions of yoga asana.
Castle Hill Fitness is the only center in Austin, Texas to offer Ashtanga Yoga in the traditional way as taught in Mysore, India. We seek to honor the tradition by teaching students the traditional method and inspiring them to practice the system properly with reverence and for personal and spiritual enrichment.
We offer classes six days-a-week, Sunday through Friday. We also follow the traditional custom of resting on Saturdays and moon days.
